Welcome to Pawprints Vetcare

We provide mobile veterinary services in Surrey, East Hampshire & West Sussex

As experienced Vets, we understand that bringing your pet to a vet clinic may sometimes be stressful and impersonal. That’s why we at Pawprints Vetcare come to you, making the experience more convenient and comfortable for your pets. We offer bespoke healthcare plans, basic diagnostics and pet consultations, as well as peaceful home euthanasias, when it’s that time. We also provide pet cremation services, assisting you through every step of this emotional experience. We are proudly independent, very caring and personable, with the aim of building a bond with our clients and nurturing long lasting relationships.

Pawprints – Our purpose

Hello everyone, my name is Steffi Galt and I have been a Veterinary Surgeon (BSc, BVM&S, MRCVS) since 2016 after studying at the University of Edinburgh and McGill University before that. Yes, an 8 year journey! Find me on the RCVS register by clicking here.

I have been working in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care for almost 6 years and throughout this time, recognised that in-clinic consultations simply don’t work for everyone. Our pets and clients deserve privacy, time and patience and the option of a house visit especially when we have very anxious patients – or when the very challenging time to say goodbye arises.

We offer house bespoke preventative health plans for your pets (prevention is better than cure!) amongst various other services which you can find in the services and pricing page. We can also offer a gentle and peaceful euthanasia procedure at your home, ensuring a calm and stress-free environment for your pet and your family. We understand how important it is for your pet to be surrounded by familiar faces and comforts during their final moments, like the solace of your voice, and deeply believe that this is the best we can do for them in their final moments.

The goal of this service is to make veterinary visits as seamless and relaxing as possible for you, your family and of course, your pet.

Older pets are close to my heart!

While we offer a variety of services, older pets are especially close to my heart. I feel that there is so much more that we can do to make them more comfortable and live their final days in peace and comfort. For your precious older pets we offer:

House call visits to assess your pet’s quality of life, teach you how to assess and record this daily, create a palliative care plan with you for your pet, provide advice on how we can make small changes to their surroundings to keep them comfortable, prescribe or dispense medication for you on the day (depending on the drug)

Peaceful house call euthanasia, where we come to your home, perform a physical exam on your pet, then once we have confirmed the euthanasia decision, we give your pet a gentle sedative to ensure that they are relaxed and calm, then we give the final euthanasia drug allowing them to pass away peacefully with their favourite people around them, in their cozy homes

After care cremation services offering either group cremations where your pet’s ashes are scattered in the memorial field at the crematorium or individual cremation, where you get your pet’s ashes back in your choice of urn/casket along with a certification from the crematorium confirming that your pet was cremated individually. We will respectfully bring your pet to our base where they will be taken to the crematorium and their ashes delivered back to us. We then hand deliver them to you

From Fiona R

Steffi was the most supportive and understanding throughout the last few days of Buffy’s life. Steffi was sensitive to Buffys needs, and knew these decisions have to be made last minute. Steffi kept in regular contact every day asking how we were doing, and came out within two hours of phoning when the time was right. I couldn’t have imagined going through that process with anyone else. Thank you once again.

Had to use Pawprints in the matter of urgency, and Steffi was with us within an hour. It was a heartbreaking decision, but our beautiful girl had an osteosarcoma which progressed very rapidly, and she was in terrible pain. She stopped eating and could hardly walk. Steffi was incredibly supportive, very kind and empathetic. It was challenging for her because our girl was a large breed (Great Dane) and did not react to an anestesia. Steffi managed it really well, she is very professional but also has the kindest heart and supported us through the procedure as both of us (myself and my partner) were very distressed. I would definitely recommend Pawprints – professional service with a human touch. We are very grateful and we were lucky to have found Pawprints in time of need. I have included a picture of our beloved Delilah 💔🐾

From Becky

Steffi was the most caring, compassionate, professional support we could’ve hoped for at such a devastating time.
She was amazing from the get-go, and our Sasha was so calm and peaceful in her final moments, which was obviously a huge relief for us. Steffi explained everything fully, and at no point did we feel rushed.

Steffi, the love and compassion you have shown us over the past few weeks has meant so much to us, and we will always be thankful and grateful for you and the service you have provided for us and our Sash. Thank you again.
