Peaceful Goodbyes & Our Memorial Wall
Gentle farewells for your beloved pets
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy. At Pawprints Vetcare, our goal is to make the process as gentle, respectful, and stress-free as possible - for both you and your companion.
We begin with a sedative to help your pet relax and drift into a calm, peaceful state, free from fear or anxiety.
For dogs: Once fully relaxed, a small catheter is placed in their leg, allowing the final medication to be administered smoothly and painlessly.
For cats: A catheter is usually not required. The final injection is given with a small needle after sedation, ensuring a peaceful and undisturbed farewell.
Throughout the process, your pet is treated with the utmost care and compassion, surrounded by love, in the comfort of home or wherever they feel safest.
If desired, we can organise cremation and personally return your pet’s ashes. As part of our service, we also provide a small memorial package, including fur clippings and ink paw prints, to help you remember your precious companion.
Please see our memorial wall below, honouring some of the wonderful pets and people we’ve been privileged to meet.
There is so much love on this page!
Hobbes
Steffi here from Pawprints Vetcare.
Hobbes was my family cat growing up. When I was 13 years old, a neighbourhood kid was walking around with a cardboard box, going from door to door, urging other kids to have a look inside. Without thinking twice, I pulled Hobbes out and it was love at first sight.
His little black spotted nose and beautiful eyes – a feisty and tiny little fluff ball. We hid him in the bathroom for a few days before dad caught on but it wasn’t long before he too became smitten!
Hobbes single handedly depopulated the rat colony (which the nieghbours were happy about) but sometimes did poop in the neighbours plants (which they were less happy about).
He kept us on our toes bringing in lizards, iguanas and even snakes – regularly! 18 years of so much drama and fun. I sadly didn’t get to say goodbye to my precious boy but he had a peaceful ending with my family around him. He was truly an amazing animal. Love you my Hobbsie!

Buffy
Buffy was rescued from a charity at Christmas time in 2021. She was the best Christmas present (to myself!) ever.
Buffy was a girl who loved the sunshine, finding herself her spots around the garden where she would lie and sunbathe. Her second love was for cardboard boxes, with many strewn around her home!
She wasnt much of a fan of other people and certainly knew who her mum was! Buffy never strayed from the garden as she needed to keep mum in sight, ready to hop onto a lap at any time, her little face nuzzling in to see what’s going on! An inquisitive little girl, that was so loved.
Miss you forever my best girl!
Charlie
Charlie Boy, our whole world and our soul dog. The most gentle, loving, crazy and beautiful dog. How lucky we are to have had Charlie in our lives for 12 nearly 13 years.
He has been the most special boy to our family and has always been more than just a dog to us. Words will never describe how much Charlie changed all of our lives and trying to continue on without him is truly heartbreaking and life will never be the same without him by our sides.
He really was a once in a lifetime dog and was sent to be with us for a reason. “I loved you for your whole life but I’ll miss you for the rest of mine.”
I hope Charlie is on a beach running free like a puppy again 💙

Pippa
Little Pippa, our best friend and companion for nearly 13 years. Always at our side making us smile with your cuteness and funny little ways, you will have a place in our hearts forever. Love you and miss you, our furry friend. xxx
Poppy
Poppy was rehomed with Celia when it became clear she was very unhappy living in a household with another cat. She settled very well once she became a solitary cat & beneath her slightly aloof persona, Poppy was a very sweet natured & affectionate little cat who loved nothing more than playing with the end of the knitting needle while Celia was trying to knit or offering a ‘helping’ paw with a jigsaw.
She was a lovely companion until she became unwell in May 2025 when she had to be put to sleep.
Poppy is remembered affectionately as a little character who is sadly missed.
